Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi says the technical investigation into the fatal motorcycle crash near Veerst could take up to two months. Two teachers from Vejen Friskole, including the influencer Camilla Dohn, were killed on August 5.
The crash happened on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at about 11 a.m. It took place on Lykkegårdsvej near Veerst in Vejen Municipality in southern Jutland. Avisen Danmark reports that police have now given a status update on the case.
Two people died in the crash, a 27-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man. Both worked as teachers at Vejen Friskole. According to the same reporting, the woman was the publicly known influencer Camilla Dohn.
Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi has previously stated that the motorcycle and observations from the scene were handed to the force’s vehicle inspectors in Fredericia. Police said on Friday by email that everything still points to a single-vehicle crash. They added that it may take up to two months before all questions are answered, as far as that is possible.
Vehicle inspector’s report pending
Police commissioner Simon Langelund of Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi is responsible for the further investigation. Per his account to the outlet, the motorcycle involved is being examined, and a vehicle inspector is working on what caused the collision. He said the preliminary findings continue to indicate a solo accident.
Langelund stated that the investigation must establish the cause, and that police cannot say more at this stage. He expects up to two months to pass before the vehicle inspector’s report is ready. According to him, that report is meant to help clarify both the sequence of events and the cause.
Avisen Danmark had asked police for access to several specific facts about the case. The outlet requested information on the speed at the time of the crash, the cause of the crash, and who was driving the motorcycle. Those questions remain unanswered while the technical work continues.
The outlet is the only one to have reported this update on the investigation’s timetable. Its earlier coverage described flowers being laid at the site on Lykkegårdsvej, where children and adults gathered to say goodbye to the two victims. Photographs from the roadside were published on August 7.
The case is being handled as a traffic fatal crash investigation by the district force, with technical analysis centralized at the vehicle inspection unit in Fredericia. Police have not indicated that any other vehicle is under examination.
