Denmark Bans PFAS Pesticides to Protect Groundwater
Denmark has banned 23 PFAS-linked pesticides following a GEUS study confirming their degradation into persistent trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), contaminating groundwater above EU safety limits. This precautionary measure aims to protect public health and the environment from “forever chemicals” in agriculture, with phased-out timelines and reviews of additional substances pending EU-wide regulation.
