An unknown person gained access to a pupil’s Aula account at Fløng Skole in Høje-Taastrup and sent messages threatening a possible school shooting. Police say the case was investigated and that there was no danger to pupils or staff.
The incident took place over the past weekend and was reported to the police, DR reports. Høje-Taastrup Kommune confirmed to the broadcaster that an unknown person had obtained access to a pupil’s Aula profile. From that profile, threatening messages were sent out to Fløng Skole.
Københavns Vestegns Politi has confirmed receiving a report about a threat shared on Aula concerning a possible school shooting. The police district covers Høje-Taastrup and other municipalities west of Copenhagen. No information has been released about who was behind the account access.
According to Høje-Taastrup Kommune, the police were able to state at an early point, on the basis of their investigation, that there was no danger to pupils or employees. The municipality said the school’s management has communicated both the threats and the police assessment to parents at the school.
In a written response to DR, the municipality stated that pupils and parents who had naturally been frightened by the threats would be looked after. The municipality did not say how many families received the messages. It also did not detail what steps were taken to secure the affected account.
Københavns Vestegns Politi said on Wednesday that the district has nothing further to add in the case at this time. The police also stated that it was quickly assessed that there was no reason for concern that a school shooting would take place. That assessment was based on the investigation that had been launched.
What Aula is
Aula is the shared communication platform used by staff, parents and pupils in Denmark’s municipal primary and lower secondary schools and daycare facilities. It is the standard channel for messages between schools and families, and pupils log in with their own profiles. The platform is used across Danish municipalities, including in Danish public schools covered by the folkeskole system.
Because messages sent through Aula reach parents directly, the threat was distributed to recipients connected to Fløng Skole before it was reported. DR reports that the person who obtained access to the pupil’s profile remains unknown. The case is registered with Københavns Vestegns Politi.
Neither the municipality nor the police have said whether any pupils or staff stayed away from the school as a result of the messages. Høje-Taastrup Kommune has not announced any changes to school routines following the threat. DR published its report on the case on the morning of September 16, 2026.
No arrests have been reported in connection with the case. The police have not indicated when further information may be released. Høje-Taastrup Kommune referred to its written statement for further comment.
