Sundhed.dk Gives Access to Better Healthcare in Denmark

Denmark’s national health portal, sundhed.dk, has launched a new campaign showcasing how everyday citizens use digital healthcare in Denmark to simplify their lives, empower decision-making, and build confidence in navigating the healthcare system.

New Campaign Highlights Personal Impact

Sundhed.dk, Denmark’s official digital gateway to the public healthcare system, has launched a new awareness campaign titled “Always with Me.” The initiative focuses on how Danes across different life situations use the platform to manage their health, find information, and stay involved in their medical treatments. Hopefully, this will make it feel more relevant to people.

Despite being widely known in Denmark, many people are still unaware of the breadth of services available on sundhed.dk. The portal allows users to view medical records, access test results, renew prescriptions, search for healthcare providers, and learn about conditions through the Patient Handbook. With 1.5 million Danes logging on each month or using the associated MinSundhed app, the campaign aims to underline that sundhed.dk is not just a site, but a vital tool for modern healthcare in Denmark. The campaign reminds people to use it more.

Real People, Real Benefits

The campaign features six everyday citizens, each offering insight into how sundhed.dk supports them through various healthcare journeys. From managing chronic illness and medication to staying informed about hospital visits and diagnoses, these stories illustrate the usefulness of having medical data readily at hand – anywhere and anytime.

For people undergoing long-term treatments or dealing with complex health issues, the ability to track their own journey offers valuable reassurance. For example, Danes with conditions like high blood pressure or restless legs syndrome can independently renew their prescriptions online, eliminating the need for repeat visits to clinics or doctors. Others find comfort in revisiting their medical records after hospitalizations to better understand diagnoses and treatments they may have forgotten or misunderstood at the time.

Whether they’re riding a bus, sitting in a café, or taking a break at the badminton court, users can access their health information on the go, thanks to the mobile-responsive portal and companion app, MinSundhed.

A Trusted Source of Health Information

Beyond personal experiences, sundhed.dk serves as a hub for accurate, government-backed health information. As it is jointly owned by the Danish government, municipalities, and regional health authorities, the platform carries official and consistent content. This includes verified medical knowledge, personalized overviews of past and upcoming appointments, and details about ongoing treatments.

Over the past years, the platform has significantly expanded its offerings. One recent update allows patients and professionals of healthcare in Denmark to access centrally registered diagnoses through the portal. This promotes a more coherent and transparent communication process between doctors and patients, improving the overall quality of care.

Expanding Visibility Across Denmark

The “Always with Me” campaign is being rolled out across national television, outdoor advertising, and social media channels, ensuring that Danes from all walks of life are reminded about the possibilities offered by digital health engagement. By focusing on relatable scenarios and real voices, sundhed.dk hopes to create a stronger emotional connection with its users, emphasizing how digital access is changing the doctor-patient dynamic.

The campaign also has the strategic goal of strengthening public awareness about the capabilities of online healthcare in Denmark. For instance, a widely promoted integration now allows Danes to register their organ donor status not only through the website but also directly in the MinSundhed app. This shows how continuous development of digital health tools is making it easier for individuals to manage responsibilities previously tied tightly to bureaucratic procedures.

Part of Everyday Healthcare

According to a recent Epinion study, around 64% of Danish healthcare professionals regularly use sundhed.dk in their work. In general practice settings, the usage is even higher: up to 95% of general practitioners report using the platform daily to retrieve patient information or communicate with other providers of healthcare in Denmark. These numbers showcase the central role the portal plays in not just patient lives, but also in clinical environments.

Digital Healthcare with a Human Touch

In a country known for its efficient public services and high digital literacy rates, sundhed.dk exemplifies how technology can complement – rather than replace – the human aspect of medicine. By presenting healthcare tools in a user-friendly, accessible way, the platform helps citizens take an active role in their own wellbeing.

With the new campaign making waves across the country, sundhed.dk underscores its mission: to make healthcare information available when and where it matters most – right in the hands of the people.
