Skive College ended its exchange project in Kenya early after suspicions of financial misconduct raised concerns about the program’s integrity and led to an employee’s resignation.

However, the collaboration came to an abrupt end. During the project, teachers traveling with the group became uneasy about what they encountered in Kenya. Eventually, suspicion turned toward one of Skive College’s own employees. The person was suspended after being suspected of misusing public funds but chose to resign before the investigation concluded.

The project’s funding came from Globus, a grant managed under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs that supports global engagement and educational cooperation. Because of that connection, the Ministry later published the case on its official website.

When the concerns emerged, Skive College immediately alerted its auditor and the Ministry’s legal advisors. The college also informed Globus, which decided to put the collaboration on hold until further notice. Although the school has officially closed the internal investigation, Globus continues to work on a final report regarding the matter.
