New accounts show that Jeppe Bloch Nielsen, chairman of Danske Svineproducenter, and his brother posted a pre-tax profit of nearly 8 million kroner for 2025.
Avisen Danmark reports that the newly published accounts for Hjarup Vestergaard ApS show a pre-tax profit of 7.96 million kroner for 2025. The company is based in Vamdrup and is owned jointly by pig farmer Jeppe Bloch Nielsen and his brother, Mads Bloch Nielsen.
The figure marks a clear improvement on the previous year. In 2024, the company reported a pre-tax result of 5.16 million kroner, according to the same accounts. After tax had been paid on the 2025 result, the profit stood at just over 6.4 million kroner.
The accounts also show that gross profit rose by close to three million kroner during the year. It went from just over 14.3 million kroner to more than 17.2 million kroner. Gross profit is revenue minus the cost of goods and production.
Staff numbers grew as well. The company went from 18 to 22 full-time employees over the course of the year, the accounts show. Personnel costs rose from just under six million kroner to close to 7.1 million kroner.
A separate set of accounts has been published for Jeppe Bloch Nielsen’s own holding company, which is registered in Vejen. That company reported a 2025 result of nearly 3.8 million kroner before tax. In the management report, he describes the result as satisfactory.
A period of media attention
The accounts arrive after several weeks in which the chairman has featured in Danish media. He sought to stop a TV 2 documentary about conditions for pigs in Danish barns, Avisen Danmark reports. The documentary included hidden camera footage filmed in his own pig barn in Vejen.
Earlier in the summer, he also drew attention ahead of a crisis meeting among Danish pig producers. The meeting followed political focus on Danish pig production. In an interview with Altinget, he used a crude term about government ministers, noting that most of them live in Copenhagen.
The remark led to criticism from within the farming sector, as covered by Avisen Danmark in a separate report. The outlet described the comment as unwise in the eyes of other industry figures.
JydskeVestkysten, whose reporter Mathies Møller Dalsgaard wrote the article, states that it contacted Jeppe Bloch Nielsen about the accounts. He did not wish to comment on the figures.
No other outlet has published its own reporting on the two sets of accounts, based on the material available. The figures themselves come from the annual reports filed by the two companies for the 2025 financial year.
