Lego reported record results for the first half of 2026 on Tuesday, with revenue up 21 percent to 41.9 billion kroner and operating profit up 22 percent to 10.9 billion kroner.
The Billund-based toy group published its half-year figures on August 25, 2026. As Avisen Danmark reports, both revenue and operating profit grew by double-digit percentages in the first six months of the year. The company said it again grew faster than the global toy market and took market share.
According to Lego’s own press release, net profit for the period rose 32 percent to 8.6 billion kroner, up from 6.5 billion kroner in the first half of 2025. The Lego Group newsroom also reported that consumer sales grew 22 percent.
CEO Niels B. Christiansen said the company was very satisfied with the start to 2026 and pointed to continued enthusiasm for the brand. Per Avisen Danmark, he described the product range as having something for everyone, with brand experiences of cultural relevance strengthening demand worldwide.
More than 330 new products
Lego launched more than 330 new products in the first six months of 2026. That is more than the 314 new sets released in the first half of 2025, which was a company record at the time. Best-selling themes included Speed Champions, Botanicals, Technic, Icons and Star Wars.
The company highlighted partnerships in sports and entertainment, including Formula 1, the 2026 FIFA World Cup and KPop Demon Hunters. RTÉ reported that World Cup and Formula 1 sets attracted new customers during the period. CNBC also pointed to demand for botanical sets and collectible ranges.
Investments reached 4.6 billion kroner in the first half, covering a new factory and expansions and upgrades of existing facilities. As reported by Brick Fanatics, that figure is 400 million kroner higher than in the same period of 2025. Lego spent a further 1.9 billion kroner acquiring 29 Lego and Legoland Discovery Centres from Merlin Entertainments.
Those centers are located in nine countries and receive around five million visitors a year combined. In Billund, Lego opened the Kornmarken Campus in June, its first global innovation center dedicated to production. The 100,000 square meter site houses more than 1,800 employees.
Christiansen highlighted the work of the group’s 34,000 employees. At the end of 2025, Lego had 33,801 staff worldwide, with more than 7,200 in Denmark and close to 6,600 in Billund. The company, founded in Billund in 1932, has six factories globally, with a seventh under construction in Virginia expected to open in 2027.
Speaking to AFP, as published by The Peninsula, Christiansen called the first half stronger than expected and said he expects double-digit growth for the full year. Lego products are sold in more than 120 countries.
