The new edition of Kraks Blå Bog was published on Wednesday with 76 new names, bringing the Danish reference work to 8,094 biographies of living people.
Avisen Danmark, citing Ritzau, reports that this year’s Kraks Blå Bog came out on Wednesday, August 19. The volume now contains 8,094 biographies of people who are still living, after the addition of 76 names.
The book is published by Gads Forlag. According to the publisher, the work shows a piece of Danish history that covers the whole of society, with significant and capable people from every professional field.
Digitally, readers can access all the biographies of the roughly 30,000 people who have appeared in Kraks Blå Bog since the first version was published in 1910. Admission is decided by the editorial team behind the work, which consists of an internal committee and external consultants. Those consultants hold central positions in business, cultural life and the public sector.
Among this year’s new entries are Nina Zilstorff Munch-Perrin, communications chief for the royal household and a former DR presenter, and Heidi Krumhardt Mortensen, adviser to the royal couple. Also listed is Maziar Mike Doustdar, chief executive of Novo Nordisk.
Several municipal leaders were added. They include Sisse Marie Berendt Welling of SF, lord mayor of Copenhagen, Anders Winnerskjold of the Social Democrats, mayor of Aarhus, and Lasse Frimand Jensen, also a Social Democrat, mayor of Aalborg. Other new names are Djøf chair Sara Gundelach Vergo, musician Benjamin Hav, Chief Rabbi Jair Melchior, caster Anja Philip and Major General Søren Andersen, head of Arctic Command.
BT reported the same total of 8,094 biographies. According to the outlet, the youngest of the new names are Aarhus mayor Anders Winnerskjold and poet Signe Gjessing, while the oldest new entry is journalist and author Frits Ahlstrøm. BT also listed further additions, among them Jeanett Bukhave and Anne Sofie Hammer.
How the total compares
For comparison, Gads Forlag states on its page for the 2025-26 edition that the book then contained 8,245 biographies and 101 new entries. That figure is from the previous edition and not from Wednesday’s release.
The trigger for the publication is the annual update of the reference work. The publisher’s page for Kraks Blå Bog 2026-27 states that the new edition is being released in August 2026. Both Gads Forlag and the source reporting present the book as the latest edition in a series running since 1910, rather than a response to any separate event.
