DR’s consumer program Kontant reported on August 26, 2026, that drivers for several Funen-based Flextrafik operators were told to swap vehicles before announced inspections. Midttrafik says it will now consider whether announced inspections should continue.
Several drivers who worked under the same administration told DR Kontant that they were asked to exchange cars with colleagues ahead of checks. The inspections are carried out by the regional transit companies, which coordinate flextrafik services.
Flemming Kure, who drove for the operator LS Busser, said he was given an address in Aarhus at his last inspection. He was told to change vehicles there before driving on to the check. According to Kure, this happened during the period when winter tires were required, and the company had not fitted them.
Another driver, Rasmus Andersen, told DR that he has worked for Flex Midt, Flex Fyn, Flex Syd, Flex Auto, Flex Ejendom, Reliable ApS and LS Busser. Per Andersen, the companies are the same operation under different names. He described meeting a colleague at a nearby nursing home to swap cars, then waiting in the colleague’s vehicle until the inspection was over.
Andersen said drivers learn about announced inspections several hours in advance, which makes it easy to prepare. Kure is no longer working in the Flextrafik sector.
Midttrafik to reconsider announced inspections
Midttrafik director Lars Berg told Kontant that the company carries out both announced and unannounced inspections. He said he is confident in the checks the company performs. Responding to the drivers’ accounts, Berg said cheating is possible when an inspection is announced.
According to Berg, such behavior breaks with the trust-based approach the company takes when it signs a contract with an operator. He said the statements give cause for reflection, and that Midttrafik must consider whether announced inspections are the right method.
Midttrafik, Sydtrafik and Fynbus responded jointly in writing. They stated that since DR Kontant first contacted them, they have placed LS Busser under tightened supervision. They also carried out an increased number of unannounced vehicle inspections and collected training certificates for all drivers at the named companies.
In the program, reporter Jacob Kragelund interviewed LS Busser owner Salah Salem Al-Badri. Asked whether drivers might swap cars before an inspection, Al-Badri said he is not closely involved in daily operations. He added that the company does not usually do that, and that each driver has a fixed vehicle.
At the time of the interview, Al-Badri was no longer director of LS Busser but still owned it. He has since left the company entirely, according to DR.
Kontant later received a written response on behalf of all the companies featured in the program. It came from the new owner, Omran Khaled Abdel Rahman, who has also served as director for several years. He wrote that management has made clear that cheating in connection with inspections will lead to immediate dismissal.
Abdel Rahman also stated that several of DR’s sources were employed years ago, and that their accounts do not reflect current operations. According to him, the companies are separate entities that share administration to reduce costs.
