Two 10-year-old boys found a second bag of suspected stolen valuables in Nymosen in Vangede, and were honored by North Zealand Police on September 25, 2026.
Henry Sæderup Jørgensen and Gorm Madsen Kvist made the find during television filming for the program Ultra Gaming. DR reports that the boys were showing host Maria Helander the spot where they found valuables about a year earlier. At that same spot, they found another bag.
According to DR, the new bag resembled a toiletry bag and lay in the soft ground of the bog. Gorm Madsen Kvist described finding silver spoons, necklaces and a watch inside. The two friends regularly search bushes, forests and bogs for small objects in their free time.
Police sent a patrol car and a dog unit
The boys and the television crew contacted the police, who arrived with both a patrol car and a dog patrol. Officers took possession of the bag and its contents, and searched the surrounding area for further traces.
During that search, officers found a piece of fabric that resembled a form of headwear. Per DR, the item could possibly have been used for masking. The officers’ initial assessment on site was that the new items might be connected to the earlier find.
That earlier discovery, made in the same bog roughly a year ago, included jewelry and a Rolex watch. Police at the time treated the contents as suspected stolen goods.
Reward ceremony in North Zealand
On September 25, Gorm and Henry were invited to North Zealand Police to receive a reward for their find from last year. North Zealand Police director Lykke Sørensen thanked them for contacting the police, so the valuables can be returned to their owners. She also encouraged the boys to get in touch again if they come across further finds.
A press release distributed by Ritzau states that 10 citizens received rewards and diplomas at a ceremony held that day. According to the release, the awards recognized exceptional courage, helpfulness and initiative. The available report does not give further details about the boys’ find.
Henry Sæderup Jørgensen told DR that it was slightly annoying that they could not keep the items they found. He added that it was great fun when the dog patrol turned up. DR notes that the officers took time to show the dogs to the boys from the back of the vehicle, alongside the search for traces.
Nymosen is a bog area in Vangede, in Gentofte Municipality north of Copenhagen. The police have not stated publicly whether the owners of the newly found valuables have been identified.
