Avisen Danmark reports that Thomas Helmig’s biological daughter gave birth to a boy on Sunday. The news was made public through a post on Ida-Marie Helmig’s Instagram profile, which also revealed the child’s name.
The newborn’s full name is Erik Hugo Korsholm Helmig. Per Avisen Danmark, the middle name is shared with Thomas Helmig’s only biological son, the singer Hugo Helmig, who died in November 2022. Thomas Helmig welcomed the child in a short Instagram post of his own.
TV 2 states that Helmig has become a grandfather again and confirms the August 23 birth. The outlet links the middle name directly to his son, who died on November 23, 2022. TV 2 also recalls that Ida-Marie Helmig announced in February that the family would grow later in the year.
