A new Epinion poll for DR and Altinget ranks the ministers in Denmark’s new government by popularity. Health and church minister Ida Auken lands at the bottom with a net score of minus 20.
The poll is the first popularity measurement of the cabinet since it took office. DR published the minister by minister list on August 14, 2026. The survey was carried out by Epinion for DR and Altinget.
According to DR, 18 percent of respondents have a positive view of Ida Auken (Socialdemokratiet), while 38 percent have a negative view. That gives her a score of minus 20, the lowest of any minister. Auken has represented three parties in the Folketinget: SF, Radikale Venstre and now Socialdemokratiet.
DR notes that Auken ended up in a media storm shortly after taking office. She had shared a video celebrating that the Folketinget had been assigned a priest. Culture minister Zenia Stampe (Radikale Venstre) is second from the bottom with minus 17.
Three ministers share third place, each on minus 8. They are climate, energy and supply minister Samira Nawa (Radikale Venstre), finance minister Peter Hummelgaard (Socialdemokratiet) and foreign minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (Moderaterne). Per DR, Nawa has been under scrutiny over the summer after calling it unacceptable before the election to examine extending North Sea licenses. The review has not been dropped since she became climate minister.

At the other end of the list, justice minister Nicolai Wammen (Socialdemokratiet) is the most popular with plus 11. Children, elderly and housing minister Jacob Mark (SF) and economy and interior minister Pia Olsen Dyhr (SF) both score plus 8.
Education minister Magnus Heunicke (Socialdemokratiet) follows with plus 5. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (Socialdemokratiet) takes fifth place among the most popular ministers with plus 3.
How the poll is measured
Respondents are asked whether they have a positive or negative impression of each minister. The share of negative answers is then subtracted from the share of positive answers, DR explains. Altinget has used the same index in its own coverage of Epinion’s popularity rankings.
Epinion publishes a transparency report for each poll it conducts for the two outlets. As stated by Epinion, those reports document sample size, fieldwork dates, weighting and question wording.
The government currently has 21 ministers, down from 25 under the previous cabinet, according to DR. The ministerial reshuffle was presented at Amalienborg on June 3, 2026. Several of the ministers at the bottom of the list are newly appointed.
DR and Altinget announced their joint polling cooperation with Epinion in 2020, covering voter attitudes to both parties and politicians. The new ministers had little time in office before the summer recess, DR notes, yet some already receive harsh treatment from voters.
