PostNord and Denmark’s largest online marketplace, DBA, have teamed up to enhance the safety, convenience, and reach of secondhand shopping in Denmark. The collaboration centers around the “Fiks færdig” feature, which streamlines payment and shipping directly on the platform.
Secondhand Shopping in Denmark Grows in Popularity
Secondhand shopping in Denmark has become a staple in households. According to DBA’s 2024 Reuse Index, 81% of Danes have bought or sold used goods in the past year. This growing trend reflects increasing environmental awareness and a desire for budget-friendly shopping options. Recognizing this shift, DBA and PostNord have launched a partnership that integrates PostNord’s delivery services into DBA’s “Fiks færdig” solution. Hopefully, secondhand shopping will become easier and safer.
Launched in February 2025, “Fiks færdig” is an in-platform feature allowing users to complete the entire transaction. From payment to shipping – directly on DBA. Since its release, over 270,000 transactions have been completed using this system, highlighting widespread user adoption and trust. The results show strong trust and interest from users.
Simplified Transactions for Buyers and Sellers
“Fiks færdig” removes traditional hurdles from the process of buying and selling used items. Buyers can securely pay through the DBA platform and select PostNord as their preferred delivery option. The system automatically generates a QR code, which allows sellers to easily print a shipping label containing all relevant details.
Packages can then be dropped off at any of PostNord’s more than 1,300 parcel shops across Denmark. Buyers receive full tracking via PostNord’s app, adding transparency to the process. Importantly, sellers don’t receive payment until the item has been delivered and confirmed by the buyer, which provides additional security to buyers.
Popular Categories for Reuse
The integration has already made a noticeable difference in key product categories. The most exchanged items using “Fiks færdig” include furniture, home décor, electronics, clothing, and books. These are not only commonly traded but also often difficult to coordinate logistically for private sales and shopping in Denmark. With PostNord’s support, these items can now be sent more broadly across Denmark with ease.
A Broader Network and National Convenience
The partnership enhances the accessibility of secondhand items nationwide. With PostNord’s extensive distribution network, even users in rural or remote areas can now participate fully in Denmark’s growing reuse economy. This expanded reach is especially valuable for bulkier or more valuable items, such as designer furniture or specialized electronics, which now benefit from secure and trackable shipping.
Moreover, the system supports various parcel sizes, allowing users to send anything from small decorative items to larger home goods. The QR code-based label printing process removes manual errors and simplifies the shipping experience for users with minimal tech experience.
Security and Trust Are Central
One of the standout features of “Fiks færdig” is the built-in security. Since payments are held until confirmed delivery, buyers can shop without fear of scams or dishonesty. Sellers receive clear instructions for packaging and shipping, easing concerns around logistics and helping new users engage with shopping in Denmark.
Denmark’s Push Toward a Greener Future
In addition to making reuse commerce more accessible and efficient, both PostNord and DBA highlight sustainability as a key focus area. PostNord has committed to becoming completely fossil-free by 2030 and already includes a climate contribution with all domestic shipments. Enabling circular commerce through secondhand trading aligns with Denmark’s broader environmental goals.
DBA remains Denmark’s largest online platform for secondhand goods. By integrating shipping and payments through “Fiks færdig”, the company continues to adapt and modernize its services to reflect evolving consumer demands.
Looking Ahead
With the success of “Fiks færdig” so far, and a growing user base enthusiastic about sustainable shopping, the future of secondhand commerce in Denmark looks bright. The collaboration between DBA and PostNord sets a new standard for secure, eco-conscious, and nationwide reuse trading. This streamlined model could serve as a blueprint for other digital marketplaces aiming to support a circular economy.
